“Our Commitment To Your Pet Lies In The Quality Of Our Care”
We are located at 234 Power Road, Endeavour Hills, at the intersection of Power Road and Heatherton Road, just off the Monash Freeway. We are very easily visible (blue building) and accessible. We have ample parking at the rear.
OUR OPENING HOURS ARE:-
While our regular opening hours are:- 8:00am to 7:00pm Mondays to Fridays; and 08:00am to 1:00pm Saturdays, on most days Dr Govender is at the clinic as early as 06:00hours and at times even earlier. On numerous occasions at this early hours we had to deal with poisoning in pets, failing heart, motor vehicle accidents, while the rest of Melbourne are having pleasant dreams. “Our Commitment To Your Pet Lies In The Quality Of Our Care”. We do also provide a 24 hour on call service.
We recommend that you schedule an appointment for your pet when coming to see us. This will ensure that your pet is attended to promptly. These appointments are intended to be informative only. The appointment allows for clear communication so that we can best understand your pet's problem(s) as well as your concern(s) and it enables us to formulate an appropriate diagnostic and treatment plan.
We request that you arrive at least 10 minutes early if you are a new client to complete the new patient registration forms.
Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. From an Occupational Health and Safety point we do ask you to restrain your pet. We recommend that animals be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the reception area. If you do not have a leash or cat carrier please ask our receptionist on duty for assistance who will be more than willing to oblige.
While our opening hours are from 08:00hrs to 19:00hrs Mondays to Fridays, if you need to have your pet admitted before 08:00hrs for surgery this can be easily arranged. At times you may notice that we are still here till well after midnight, which is because we would be carrying out an emergency procedure on a beloved family pet, such as a Caesarian Section trying to save the unborn lives of the littlies, or stitching up a dog attack victim, resuscitating a collapsing pet and the likes, while the rest of Melbourne is reflecting on their events of the day. On most days as you drive. by to work in the early hours of the mornings you will find the clinic lights on, as Dr Govender is at the Surgery either catching up on administrative work or checking up on pets that have been admitted to hospital. Dr Govender is generally at the clinic at well before 6:00 am.
IF YOU HAVE AN AFTER HOURS EMERGENCY
We do provide a 24 hour on call service. While we are closed on Public Holidays, you may access us using our regular phone number, for emergencies. In the event that we are engaged we recommend that you contact the Emergency Centres listed below. You may try calling us first. If we are still in the facility (sometimes Dr. Govender works late hours, as owners sometimes do) we may be able to take on an emergency. There will be an “after hours” charge in addition to the treatment expenses, but that may still be less expensive for you than going to an emergency facility, and we may be closer. Please call ahead.
We do have a pet ambulance, which once saw its working life in Queensland as a Human Ambulance, which we do use to service the needs of pet owners who cannot bring their pets to us during the regular opening hours. For safety reasons we unfortunately at this stage do not provide an after hours house call service.
The EMERGENCY FACILITIES we normally refer our patients to are:
Southern Animal Referral Centre
Pet Emergency & Specialist Centre
Animal Emergency Centre - Hallam
When faced with an after hours emergency, please phone ahead to the Emergency Centre that you are planning to go to, with the animal's breed and approximate size, present symptoms and any other health problems. We do suggest that you confirm the exact location of the Emergency Centre closest to you.
The Emergency Centres functions as an extension of the services already provided by us. We do ask that you contact us during normal business hours if you have a general enquiry about your pet’s health.
