About PETCAREVET-X

PPETCAREVET-X is built around one clear purpose: improving patient care. Our approach combines considered clinical judgement, appropriate use of technology, personalised treatment and clear communication within a structured and accountable model of veterinary care.

Why PETCAREVET-X Exists

Veterinary care should do more than respond to illness. It should help identify risk earlier, investigate concerns thoughtfully, explain choices clearly and support the patient beyond a single consultation.

PETCAREVET-X exists to bring these elements together within an ethical and accountable approach to care. Investigations and technology are used where they are expected to provide meaningful information, recommendations are guided by the patient’s needs, and clients are given clear information to support informed decisions.

Our Approach to Patient Care

Every patient is approached as an individual. We listen carefully to the owner, examine thoroughly, establish what is known, identify what remains uncertain and determine what matters most.

Where investigation or treatment is recommended, we explain its purpose, expected benefit, limitations and likely next steps. Diagnostic testing, clinical equipment and technology are used where they can reasonably influence patient care.

Care continues through review. Progress is assessed, concerns are reconsidered and treatment plans are adjusted where the patient’s response indicates that this is necessary.

Clinical Leadership & Accountability

Clinical decisions at PETCAREVET-X are led by Dr Vadi Govender. Veterinary examination, diagnosis, prescribing, treatment, anaesthesia, surgery, prognosis and referral remain under veterinary authority.

The wider team supports patient care through clearly defined responsibilities, accurate information, coordinated workflow and communication under veterinary direction. This provides clear clinical accountability and ensures that clients understand who is responsible for each decision and what happens next.

Meet the PETCAREVET-X Team

PETCAREVET-X is supported by a team whose responsibilities are clearly defined across clinical leadership, patient-care coordination, veterinary nursing and strategic development. Each team member contributes within their assigned role to support patient care, communication, operational continuity and the continuing development of the practice.

Education & Professional Development

PETCAREVET-X believes that contributing to veterinary care also means contributing to the development of those entering and progressing within the profession.

Over the years, the practice has supported learning and professional development at several levels, including Year 10 school students, TAFE students, university students from La Trobe University, a veterinary student from the University of Edinburgh, and international veterinary graduates from Sri Lanka, Iran, Romania and Brazil.

By providing practical exposure, guidance and professional support, we aim to help students and graduates develop their knowledge, confidence and understanding of veterinary practice.

Our Commitment to Wildlife

Our responsibility to animal welfare extends beyond the companion animals that normally enter the consulting room.

PETCAREVET-X has a longstanding interest in wildlife and recognises the importance of appropriate veterinary assessment when native animals are injured, displaced or brought to the practice by members of the community.

Where wildlife is presented to us, our approach is guided by the welfare of the animal and the most appropriate pathway forward. This may include veterinary assessment and immediate care, return to its environment where appropriate, or transfer to experienced wildlife carers or other suitable services.
